who discovered her love of gardening while living in a Los Angeles apartment. Without a yard, she filled her walkway with pots overflowing with flowers, butterflies, and bees. That small container garden planted the seeds for what would become a lifelong passion. After graduating from UCLA, Holly studied interior design at the Fashion Institute for Design and Merchandising in Los Angeles, and later immersed herself in the historic interiors and gardens of London. She went on to build a successful career as an architectural photographer, capturing the beauty of homes and spaces for designers, architects, and publishers.

But the garden kept calling. In 2006, Holly founded The White Pear to bring together her love of design, plants, and outdoor living. She pursued formal training in landscape design through Portland Community College and began working with clients to reimagine how their outdoor spaces could feel. Today, Holly and her dedicated team nurture gardens throughout the Pacific Northwest with creativity, care, and expertise.

At The White Pear, our work is rooted in the belief that outdoor living should feel personal, functional, and deeply connected to place. We bring a designer’s eye, a gardener’s hand, and a photographer’s sense of composition to every project, whether we’re planting, pruning, furnishing, or fully redesigning your space! We do it all, design and build, pinch and prune, dig and plant, mow and blow, and furnishings and fabrics.
